Women's Long Sleeve Race Cut Cycling Jersey | BVRTUA

Meet the BVRTUA Long Sleeve Race Cut Jersey — a snug, aerodynamic women's cycling jersey with full arm coverage, cut for a woman's body and built for cold-morning races, shoulder-season criteriums and hard group efforts where you still want a competitive cut. Made from a super-soft spandex and breathable polyester blend with built-in SPF 50+ sun protection, it keeps you covered from wind and sun without adding drag. Every jersey also carries an original artwork by First Nations artist Jennifer Kent, making it one of the only long sleeve race-fit women's cycling jerseys in Australia built around a genuine Indigenous story rather than a generic print.

Fit: race cut, intended to be tight This jersey is cut close to the body through the chest, waist and arms by design — no flapping, no bunching, nothing to slow you down in the drops. Raw-cut sleeve hems sit flush against the wrist instead of digging in. True to Australian sizing; if you'd rather have more room to layer underneath, size up, or look at our Long Sleeve Club Fit jersey for a more relaxed, all-day cut through the body.

Built for the ride:

  • Premium 88% polyester / 12% elastane blend with four-way stretch for a second-skin fit that still moves
  • SPF 50+ UPF sun protection built into the fabric, full arm coverage included
  • Three rear pockets with reflective trim for ride essentials, visible in low light
  • Non-slip silicone waist gripper keeps the jersey in place mid-effort
  • Full-length YKK zipper for fast ventilation control
  • Raw-cut sleeve hems for a clean, drag-free finish at the wrist

About the Artist

Jennifer Kent is a multicultural Australian woman with First Nations ancestry from the Jinibara and Quandamooka peoples of Southeast Queensland. She comes from a generational family line of artists and song people, and works as a community activist in the ministry of Reconciliation. Jenny hopes her art inspires joy and happiness in everyone who sees it.

The Artwork: Buguwar-dja, "Freshwater Country"

This jersey features an original artwork centred on an abstract map of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, one of Australia's most popular rail trail cycling routes. Buguwar-dja translates to "freshwater country" in the Dungidjawu language — a fitting name, since this region supplies freshwater to many households across Southeast Queensland. The artwork weaves in local fauna and plant life along the trail, celebrating the landscape riders pass through on every lap. It's also available in a men's cut, and across short and long sleeve, making BVRTUA one of the few Australian cycling apparel brands built around a genuine, region-specific Indigenous artwork rather than a stock print.

Race Cut vs Club Fit — which should you choose?

Race Cut is close to the body, built for racing and hard group efforts where aerodynamics matter even in cold conditions. If you'd rather have more room through the bust and arms for early starts and cooler club runs without the racing silhouette, our Long Sleeve Club Fit jersey is the better pick — same fabric and features, cut for a woman's body without the snug racing silhouette.

The BOWY Promise

If you're not completely satisfied, we're not either. We'll gladly exchange or refund all full-priced items within 30 days of receipt, provided they are in new, unworn, and unwashed condition with original tags and packaging. We want you to love your gear as much as we do.

Care Advice

Think of your BOWY kit like a trusted teammate—it performs best when you treat it with a little care. We've included a complimentary laundry bag with your order to make this easy. Always wash your kit in cold water, below 30°C. While hand washing is best, all BOWY garments can handle a cold machine wash on a gentle or delicate cycle with a low spin.

WASHING

  • For best results, always wash your kit in the provided BOWY laundry bag.
  • Wash with similar colours, as bibs can lose a bit of dye on their first wash.
  • Zip up all zippers and fasten any Velcro to prevent snagging.
  • Use an activewear-specific detergent, or a small amount of a gentle, biodegradable one. Avoid harsh chemicals as they can shorten the life of your kit.
  • To protect the reflective elements, turn your garment inside out before washing and storing. This prevents the tiny microspheres from being damaged by abrasive surfaces.
  • Never dry clean, bleach, or use fabric softeners.

DRYING

Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to drying your kit. Always air dry.

  • Do not twist or wring the garment.
  • Keep it out of direct sunlight and never tumble dry or iron.
